Red Dragon FM is an independent local radio station broadcasting from the Red Dragon Centre in Cardiff Bay, serving Cardiff, Newport and the surrounding areas,[1] broadcasting to a potential audience of around 1.6 million people.[citation needed] Coverage in the Rhondda Valleys is slightly better on DAB Digital Radio. The station is currently owned by Global Radio (Previously Gcap Media) and forms part of its "Hit Music Network" brand.
